Symposium on the socio-cognitive antecedents of critical thinking — ULB
10.05.2023, by Media Account in call for papers
Brussels, Belgium
Deadline: May 25 2023
What is epistemic truth? How do you know that what you know is true? How to fight information disorders such as fake news or conspiracy theories? Are strong educational background, high literacy level, good sourcing abilities or reasoning skills protecting us from being gullible? What are the links between emotions, knowledge, partisanship and truthfulness? Are there specific types of interventions that could improve critical thinking and decrease credulity?
We are pleased to anounce our symposium on the socio-cognitive antecedents of critical thinking.
In this one-day interdisciplinary symposium planned on June 12, 2023, at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, we aim to bring together specialists from social sciences and humanities concerned with these questions.
