Hybrid Workshop on Victimhood Narratives

22.05.2024, by Media Account

Deadline:14 June 2024

Dear colleagues,

Marlene Voit, Emily Kubin, and I are organizing a hybrid workshop on victimhood narratives on Friday, June 28, 2024. The topic of victimhood narratives strikes us as quite timely and relevant for many debates we are having and conflicts we are currently witnessing, so we felt that a workshop that aims at bringing together different perspectives on the issue might be helpful.

If that sounds interesting to you, download our workshop flyer here:

https://syncandshare.lrz.de/getlink/fixwcuJfFyEnEf9sm6HCu/VictimhoodWorkshopFlyer.pdf

and register for the workshop before June 14 at:

https://survey.ifkw.lmu.de/workshopVN/

As you will see in the flyer, we have invited distinguished keynote speakers from different disciplines (psychology, peace and conflict studies, sociology, communication science) to tell us more about their perspectives on victimhood and their understanding of victimhood narratives in conflicts. In addition, we have reserved ample time for a Q&A and a joint discussion about some (more or less difficult) questions about victimhood narratives.

Come and join us on zoom (or, if you are in the Munich area, in-person at the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) at LMU Munich). And feel free to share this email and the flyer with anyone you think might be interested.

Thanks!
Mario Gollwitzer, Marlene Voit, and Emily Kubin
