Survey on training needs

08.04.2024, by Media Account

In December 2023, we initiated our inaugural survey on training needs within our community. The primary objectives of the survey were twofold. Firstly, we aimed to evaluate the areas of expertise and specific topics of greatest interest among our members. Secondly, we wanted to gauge the extent to which concerns for the social impact of social psychology are prevalent within our community. A concise overview of the survey's key findings can be found in the attached PowerPoint presentation.

Based on the insights gleaned from this survey, we decided to advance our efforts in the following directions:

1. Organising two methodological workshops during the 2024 Summer School, focusing on the topics most frequently selected by respondents to the survey (i.e., Open Science and Responsible Research Practices, and Multilevel Data Analysis). These workshops will be made accessible online to postgraduate members and postdocs who are not attending the Summer School.
2. Introducing a grant proposal writing workshop as an alternative option to the academic writing workshop.
3. Hosting a free training session on the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
4. Establishing a volunteer team to collaborate with the Executive Committee in organising new initiatives to support our members to produce social impact. If you are interested in volunteering for this team, please reach out to Claudia Manzi (claudia.manzi@unicatt.it) and articulate your motivations for involvement.

We look forward to your active participation and contribution towards fostering a more enriched and impactful community.
